Mailbox Ministry
Every child at UUI has their own mailbox, and every Sunday when they come to church something new is waiting for them inside their mailbox. A mailbox ministry can have many purposes. Some possibilities are:
a place to keep nametags
reinforce the time/words for all ages element of the Sunday Service
reinforce the RE lesson for the day
advertise upcoming church events
full-week faith information for families
be it’s own little mailbox pulpit
be a safe space to accommodate Mystery Friends communications
be an avenue for various church groups to connect with families
be community building—kids will be excited to come to church and check their mailbox each week!
help kids feel ownership of the church—their mailbox is a little piece of real estate in the church that belongs just to them.
This was for Black History Month. There was a dime in mailbox to glue into the picture frame.
